Griffin goes rural in the countryside.
Set
in 400 acres of unspoilt Kent countryside, the once working Hop Farm is
one of Kent’s most popular tourist attractions. It boasts the world’s
largest collection of oast houses. The Shaftesbury residents took in
the animals in the farm, there was even a reindeer there who everyone
enjoyed meeting given that it was so close to Christmas. After waving
goodbye to the animals, everyone was free to browse through the pottery
and craft centre to buy some gifts and mementos. The museum of military
vehicles housed in several barns on the site also drew in the crowds.
After a good walk around everything on show to work up a hunger, we
took to the restaurant to enjoy lunch. After refuelling it was time to
head for the minibus and back to the city. No doubt we'll enjoy another
jaunt into the country again next year. Check out the Hop Farm's website here.
